Daydreaming is the foundation for developing positive and desirable outcome scenarios and this is a process that successful people the world over do day in and day out.
If you want to become a successful online entrepreneur, the ability to picture clearly the affirmative well formed outcomes for potential future scenarios in your life will set you head and shoulders above the competition!
So - do you daydream; if you do are your daydreams fantasies or potentially reality, are they negative and scary thoughts or positive and hopeful imaginings that leave you feeling happy when you snap out of your reverie?
Wherever your daydreams lead you today…after reading this article and practicing the techniques I’m about to reveal to you, every time you unconsciously slip into a daydream or you consciously decide to imagine the development and conclusion of a scenario in your personal or business life, you will be able to picture great things happening and you will be able to play out and replay the positive outcome you desire.
Bear in mind that -
the more you focus specifically on a future event positively, the more your thoughts, actions and environment will become congruent and harmonise with that outcome and the more likely it is to happen as you plan and wish it to.
As stated, successful people in all walks of life practice this technique throughout their day to day life. For example, I’m certain that David Beckham has pictured himself kicking a ball and it going into the net over and over again, I’m sure Brad Pitt has seen clearly how a scene he is learning lines for will look when it fits into the movie he’s about to star in and I’m certain that the Google founders saw their search engine concept going stellar over and over again in their minds.
So now you need to learn this technique – it’s a simple technique and it makes ordinary people brilliant – you need to learn the real So Called Gurus secret!
- Sit in a comfortable chair in a quiet location away from distractions.
- Close your eyes and take a few long, slow, deep breathes and force your mind to concentrate on your breathing.
- Focus on how your diaphragm expands and relaxes as you breathe in and breathe out…and then slowly but surely bring into your mind an event or a task that you have that’s coming up in your life.
- To begin with it can be a task as trivial as an article you have to write or a shopping trip you have to make - the event is not important at this stage.
- Work through the stages of the task from beginning to end so that you understand them and then go back to the beginning of the scenario and imagine yourself carrying out the task confidently, easily, successfully and happily.
- Go back to the beginning and begin enriching the sensory details of this daydream…picture what you’re wearing in vivid detail, see the sun shining in on you, warming you, smell the coffee you have on your desk while you type or the smell of the fresh fruit and vegetable you’re buying on your shopping trip.
- Feel your keyboard under your fingertips - see yourself typing quickly and confidently for example.
- Add in appropriate and comfortable sounds – bird song or the murmur of voices in the background maybe.
- See through your eyes the event unfolding towards a positive and very well formed outcome…you complete your written work in quick time and it reads exceptionally well – or you come home with the shopping feeling pleased with your purchases and the price you paid for them.
- Go back to the beginning and run the scenario through one more time with all of this sensory rich detail and end your daydream at the point where you are completely positively satisfied with the outcome.
Now take an event in your life or a task that you have to complete in about a weeks time from today - and every single day for the coming week go through the event in this way at least twice a day. Run and re-run the positive and sensory rich process to the point of the affirmative outcome…and then when the event comes around I will bet you that it pans out just as you plan it, that the ultimate outcome of the task or the happening is positive and leaves you feeling satisfied.
You have to start small and then work up to the larger longer term goals that you desire – whether that be an income goal from your online business that allows you to give up your day job and work from home, or whether that be a venture capitalist floating your company for example. This is a technique like learning to walk…begin with baby steps and don’t lose heart if you fall over and lose focus…just start again and practice and practice the technique until it is natural, until it is second nature to you to sit on a plane or stand in a queue and slip into visualising your positive and desirable outcome scenarios.
