Where to Begin with Personal Development

‘Personal development’ as a concept is soooo broad and it means something completely different to each and every person depending on who they are and how they view and live their life right now – and where they are ultimately hoping to go in life of course.
So where to begin with personal development really depends a little on who you are and what you want out of life. Having said that, there are quite a few fundamental steps that each and every one of us can begin with, get working on and master, and over the next few days and weeks I’ll be concentrating on introducing these fundamental steps to you so that you can get started on improving your outlook and honing your guru mindset.
Unlike some types of therapist who tend to want to take a client back and forth over the past, raking up old wounds and negative memories in an attempt to exorcise ghosts, personal development as I understand and use it every day is very much about dealing with the here and now in a positive way and constructively and profitably framing and mapping out your future.
However, to get to an emotional position where you are completely ready to leave behind your past issues and let go of self-limiting beliefs is absolutely the most fundamental first step you have to take…
Finding Your Web Content Voice

Alice Seba from InternetMarketingSweetie.com sent out a great email the other day – she was talking about reaching your audience with compelling content and the style you should write in. Alice suggested that it can be appropriate to write like you speak – i.e., be personable and approachable, and personally I couldn’t agree more.
Simply put, finding your web content voice is critical if you’re going to be able to reach and entertain, compel, convince and retain your readership. Mind you, I might not be the most appropriate person to write this article – you see I have multiple writing personalities but I can just about stifle the more excitable ones when I’m writing a detailed report for one of our sites because I know I can move on to a less serious section soon!
So, how do you go about ‘finding’ your web content voice and what if your natural way of writing is not appropriate for your readership?
Well, if you’re a natural communicator you’ll probably find that however much you try and structure your posts, articles, reports and comments in a certain formal way, your great natural ability to really relate to your readership will keep popping up and you’re going to have to give in and relax and let your style develop into a more chatty way of corresponding and communicating.
Despite what anyone else says, a great swathe of the internet is largely about communication in the written form in my opinion, and therefore those who can relate in a natural way to their readership will get the most loyal followers – so if communication comes easily to you, you’re one of the lucky ones.
Creating a Positive Work Environment at Home

The desire to work from home, to cut out the commute and to achieve personally positive work related results from the comfort of your own abode are quite compelling…they are the desires that ultimately drove me to make dramatic changes to my life in terms of dumping one tried, tested, well paying but achingly boring career in favour of diving into the realms of the World Wide Web at a time when it certainly wasn’t as ‘fashionable’ as it is today…
And so if you’re seriously considering spending at least part of your time working from home I don’t blame you, in fact I support your goals and want to do all I can to help you succeed. One of the very first pieces of useful information that I can impart relates to creating a positive work environment at home.
Here’s what not to do: -
I used to work at home on the landing of my house – space was at a premium with bedrooms being used as places to sleep, study and work for various other members of my family and the only space left for me was in a corner of the landing along which everyone including the dog would mooch at regular intervals throughout the day.

Deep and Meaningful: -
The word ‘guru’ is generally understood to have origins in Hinduism and Buddhism and it relates to one, who through philosophical understanding, becomes a spiritual leader or a teacher.
Nowadays the term guru is more often applied to those who excel in their industry, lead in their profession or who have authority because of their level of knowledge or skill.
Sceptics and critics often term these high achievers ‘so called gurus’ because they can nether relate to them nor understand them, and the transition of the definition of the word guru from spirituality to professionalism may suggest that those who excel most actually achieve their successes as a result of privileged blessings or even luck.
It is our utter conviction and belief that this is so far from the truth.
Today’s gurus are ‘ordinary’ people who become ‘extraordinary’ through their own personal development of incredibly powerful and positive mindsets. These positive states of mind power them to success in whatever venture they choose - no matter what odds are stacked against them.
SoCalledGurus.com is therefore both a personal development website that is dedicated to helping you switch on your inner guru and develop a positive and powerful mindset that will enable you to succeed at whatever you choose to do in life - and it is a website dedicated to those who want to achieve online business success.
SCG contains inspiration and motivation to help you develop a positive entrepreneurial mindset and to lead you along the path of success - and it contains the practical advice, assistance and tools you need to make your internet based business work and keep on working.
What Are The Chances Of Becoming A Guru

Often when I chat to people about our on-line publishing business and explain roughly how it works they will seem really interested and motivated to try it for themselves, however often they inevitably ask one question:
“What are my chances of making it with an on-line business and being able to trade my day job for a successful career on-line?”
It seems like a perfectly valid question - some wise risk assessment before embarking on a new and very different career and business path - but when you look at it in the cold light of day, you’re actually asking for hard statistical data that is actually based on averages and isn’t going to add such great value towards your decision making process. In fact it may disable rather than enable your plans and goals for the future. Imagine if any of the leading Hollywood actors had stopped to ask ‘what are my chances’ - or for that matter World class sports people or captains of industry. Luckily I would say it is a lot easier to carve a career on-line that it is to set yourself up to become Hollywood’s most in demand actor; however that said, the means average statistics look incredibly grim…
